The AD-FMCOMMS3-EBZ is a high-speed analog module designed to showcase the AD936, a high-performance, highly integrated RF transceiver for RF applications such as 3G and 4G base stations and test equipment, software defined radios, etc. The device’s programmability and wideband capabilities make it ideal for a variety of transceiver applications. The device combines an RF front end with a flexible mixed-signal baseband section and integrated frequency synthesizers to provide a configurable digital interface to a processor or FPGA, simplifying design-in. The operating frequency range of the AD9361 chip is 70MHz to 6GHZ, covering most licensed and unlicensed frequency bands. By programmably changing the sampling rate, digital filter and extraction parameters of the AD9361 itself, the channel bandwidth supported by the chip ranges from less than 200kHz to 56MHZ.
